There is something about a camping environment that can help build a bond between people. A camping retreat sounds like a lot of fun. My partner and I are new to the blogging, and this seems to be in our niche. We have a company where we will be incorporating blogging about food as well, particularly dutch oven and outdoor cooking. How do we get more info on a camping blogging retreat like you talk about here?

I am searching for an answer on if it is safe to can caramelized onions.

Most people suggest to freeze them, but I don't have enough freezer space to do that. I would prefer to can them , because when the power goes out I won't have to worry about my canned ( Jarred ) goods going bad. Do you have any suggestions on how to can caramelized onions.

I'm in love... with onions!

Onions have gotten such a bad rap for years, but are really the best. And this recipe... Man! It sounds wonderful! It reminds me of my first job, at a restaurant that went out of business some time ago, "Cooper's Arms", that was located on Main Street in my hometown, beautiful downtown Rochester, Michigan.

Cooper's Arms made the most wonderful French onion soup, ever! It had sweet onions swimming through it's delicious savory broth, with a big fat crouton sitting, dead-center (smack-dab in the middle of it) - and topping it off, it had the best gooey and delicious cheese melted all over the top of it. Just thinking about that soup makes me hungry for it!

Thank you for this post. It felt good to go back, "in the day". And, for those who don't know it (or believe it) - onions ROCK!

They - doctors - are giving me shots to keep my PSA down every four months. I was thinking that a healthy diet would also help. I eat a lot of onions from the garden and other vegetables. Darrell
